Assam Abhinandan Scheme Education Loan Subsidy
Assam government to provide subsidy to the family of those students who have taken an education loan of more than Rs 1 lakh. Assam Abhinandan 2.0 Loan Scheme aims to provide a loan subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 on education loans to students pursuing higher education from good institutions. Under the Abhinandan Scheme all major banks, all commercial banks such as Federal Bank and HDFC are included. Online Portal for the Scheme will be Launched on 5 September 2024 on the Occasion of Teachers Day.

Government of Assam to provide subsidy of Rs 1,00,000 up to Rs 2 lakh to students.
In Assam Abhinandan 2.0 Loan Scheme, students can apply for the subsidy by paying 25% of their loans.

Eligibility for Assam Abhinandan 2.0 Loan Scheme
Student must be a permanent resident of the state of Assam.
Student’s parents must have an education loan of more than Rs 2 lakh.
Student must have taken a loan from a commercial or rural bank, otherwise, he cannot avail of the benefit of the scheme.
The bank has been recognized by the Reserve Bank of India.
Any Loan Amount that has been declared as a Non-Performing Asset will not be eligible for the Scheme.
Children of Sitting MP/MLA will not be covered under this Scheme.
