Inspire Scholarship 2024-25
Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) run by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India is a part of the “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” program. This program aims to encourage students to study basic and natural sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to pursue research careers by providing scholarships to deserving students.
Inspire Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants scoring top 1% in their Class XII exams from any State or Central Education Board in India and are studying Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., or Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.
Applicants who ranked within the top 10,000 in the IIT JEE or AIPMT exams and are currently studying Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., or Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.
Applicants who scored within the top 1% in their Class XII exams and are studying Integrated M.S. courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at IISERs, NISER, the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences-University of Mumbai, or Visva-Bharati, Shanti Niketan.
Applicants selected under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) and pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s courses in Natural Sciences.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars, and International Olympiad medalists pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s courses in Natural Sciences.
Renewal for Inspire Scholarship
Applicants applying for renewal need to score at least 60% marks or 7.0 GPA on a 10.0-point scale in the annual examinations each year (or 2 semesters).

Rewards For Inspire Scholarship Amount
Each selected candidate gets a scholarship amount valued at INR 80,000 per annum for the study of Science and Technology and pursue research as a career Under the scheme SHE. An award of INR 20,000 to the candidates who undertake a summer research project but under some guidance of active researchers at the specified center of India. Maximum five years duration for which the candidate can avail of the benefits of this scholarship scheme.
